Unemployment is now higher in the U.S. than in Europe, reports the Washington Post. “The official U.S. unemployment rate, reported last Friday, now stands at 10.2 percent,” compared to “9.7 percent” in Europe. This is the highest rate in more than 26 years, and marks a huge change from the recent past, in which unemployment was double the American rate in much of Europe.- *

Rainier and spotted a campfire next to an alpine lake. There was a small flat spot so I decided to visit. 
okay, i've heard enough people rant about how great last night was that i've decided to pay the whopping sum necessary to go see the pixies tonight. it appears to be sold out, however there are a veritable plethora of people selling tickets at face value on CL. have any of you who went the prior two nights observed people selling tickets outside at sane prices or anything, thus saving me an annoying trip down to whereever for a dubious CL deal? also, ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) msjen, i am totally sorry i flaked on buying yours for yesterday. my night got all screwy and i couldn't go. blek.
I have one extra ticket for Imogen Heap tonight. Doors 7p, show 8p. $50. Sheila and Blau, I'm looking at you. If you want it, reply. I'll have to pick up the tickets from the vendor at 7pm, but I'll be able to meet after that. The show is sold out and I've been trying to get tickets all day from different people off of Craigslist, and I finally found a vendor that would get me a ticket for slightly more than the already excessive price. *argh*

Czar or tsar is an informal title for certain high-level officials in the United States and United Kingdom. Political czars can run or organize governmental departments, and may devote their expertise to a single area of work. The "czars" have various official titles such as adviser, director, administrator, or diplomatic envoy, but such titles are often quite long or awkward sounding.  So how come we never heard complaint's about all of Bush's Czars? Also, I agree that Czar was a horrible choice for a name, but again you can't blame Obama for that.

A vid of the group I just joined. Now I just need a better net connection so I can join them for some flying online. Right now it's just a bunch of talking about flying on the forum. Gotta love the guy that does Alaskan bush flying with a Boeing 747. What a nut. :) I guess he randomly pops in from time to time on the flying sessions. I've done a bit of bush flying with the 737 but I can't imagine doing it in the 747.
